Ski Center and The North Face are sponsoring a FREE program on climbing featuring mountaineer Kit DesLauiers on Tuesday, Oct. 5 at the Avalon Theater.

JOURNEY THROUGH THE ARCTIC REFUGE, NORTHEAST ALASKA
Kit DesLauriers had a dream: to be the first person to climb and ski “The Seven Summits,” the highest peak on each continent. After attaining her lofty goal and becoming a mother of two, in 2010, Kit turned to explore the greatest wilderness in North America-- the 19.6-million-acre Arctic Refuge.

Follow Kit’s journey around the world on skis and then back to the United States where Kit and her team of The North Face athletes skied the highest glaciated mountains of the Brooks Range, towing sleds across polar bear denning country and frozen tundra where caribou calve. It’s a journey through wilderness, for the sake of wilderness, ad a celebration of a landscape that could be forever changed if the region is opened to development.
